Jeff is an ecological toxicologist with interests in ecological correlates of toxicant exposure, trophic transfer of contaminants, risks to secondary consumers and interactions between toxicants and other stressors. Jeff will lead the collection of samples and will aid in the evaluation of toxin concentrations in sentinel species relative to ecology, bloom intensity, toxin levels and environmental conditions.
Dr. Levengood is research faculty in fish and wildlife toxicology with the Illinois Natural History Survey at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He also holds appointments in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, and the Department of Comparative Biosciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine, both at UIUC. Jeff is current Past Chair of the Wildlife Toxicology Working Group of The Wildlife Society, appointee to the Illinois Interagency Pesticide Committee, and instructor in Ecotoxicology.
